Special thanks to Ann Harwell for showing us her wonderful quilt art. See more of her work at
We started with a wonderful presentation of art from a PWP from Ann Harwell. Her quilt art moved all and was a source of inspiration and hope. We will have her present again as the titles of the works were not available and truly a poetic addition. Next time she will narrate. Stay tuned.
We also discussed the virtual reality world and the Oculus. More and more PWP are turning to VR to help with balance and exercise. I referenced our friend Barry who uses the Oculus for exercise.
Our friend Barry likes the following Oculus programs that help with his Parkinson’s:
BEAT SABER (good for aerobic workout
ELEVEN TABLE TENNIS (you can play ping pong against the machine or people from around the world, it’s better than real ping pong because you don’t have to bend down to pick up the ball)
THE THRILL OF THE FIGHT (terrific boxing game)
I own an Oculus and will try to take a video that I can share to show you what the VR environment looks like.
We also discussed French’s Yellow Mustard which has been reported to help with restless leg syndrome and (Studies have not validated this approach but it does have Turmeric in it which is a natural anti-inflammatory.)
A quick Google search returned the following: “Yellow Mustard is the only kind of mustard documented to relieve nighttime leg cramps. When nighttime leg cramps occur, take a teaspoon or two of yellow mustard. The mustard should take effect almost immediately, allowing you to easily get to sleep”
